The Toric Geometry Seminar 2010 will be held at the Residencia V Centenario (Universidad de Extremadura) in Jarandilla de la Vera (Cáceres, Spain) from 12 to 15 November 2010.

The field of interest of this activity is located at the boundary between theoretical research in Algebraic Geometry and Commutative Algebra, and methodological research in typically more applied fields like Statistics, Probability, Operational research and Computational Biology. The fundamental models in these applied fields are defined through systems of polynomial equations in a suitable parametrization and their methods of analysis involve the study of the solution set of polynomial systems and their geometric properties.
