Resumen: The topic of this seminar is a special family of branching processes in variable environment which we call theta-positive branching process with the branching parameter θ in varying environment ({λt}, {at}). Using explicit expressions for the probability generating functions we can establish transparent limit theorems for branching processes in varying environment. Results support the idea of recognizing five asymptotical regimes for branching in varying environment: supercritical, asymptotically degenerate, critical, strictly subcritical, and loosely subcritical.
